Julia studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. After leaving the
various joys of Manchester she moved to London to freelance. A strict classical
training led her to work with London Sinfonietta, City of London Sinfonia, Orchestra
of St John and Premiere Ensemble.
However, a yearning for variety and an eclectic taste in music led her away from orchestral playing. She moved into the show world playing in Miss Saigon, Witches of Eastwick, Kiss me Kate and On Your Toes. She joined Electra Strings as a player and string arranger and worked with artists such as Mark Knopfler, The Stranglers, the Cranberries and Eddie Reader. After leaving Electra she joined Brilliant Strings and loves to be part of such a talented and delightful group!
